COAPRT Visitor Training
Recorded On: 04/11/2019
The Council on Accreditation for Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT) recognizes academic programs in colleges and universities that prepare new professionals to enter the parks, recreation, tourism and related professions. In prior years, members of the COAPRT board have conducted an annual training at National Recreation & Park Association’s (NRPA) Congress for faculty and practitioners interested in becoming a COAPRT visitor. Those interested in serving as a visitor must attend a training every 5 years.
In order to best serve our accredited programs COAPRT is responding to the desire for more visitor training opportunities. Therefore members of the Council will be conducting a free 90 minute online training on April 11, 2019, 3:30-5:00pm EST. We encourage any faculty interested in serving as a visitor in the future to attend this training. Many visitors have noted the experience to be a rewarding professional development opportunity. Furthermore, this provides an opportunity for accredited schools to meet standard 1.06 ensuring a faculty member has participated in visitor training within five years of accreditation renewal.
