This presentation will touch on topics that anyone in leadership can utilize to grow and retain staff. Join to walk through methods that have been proven to work. Hear from Christina Weiss, district aquatic director for YMCA of South Hampton Roads, Virginia, as she covers existing partnerships that have thrived after the pandemic shutdown and new partnerships that have helped her grow her staff. Weiss will talk through how she has been able to retain the majority of her staff for a minimum of 3 years, some even longer. At the end of the session, participants will share new or "out of the box" ways they have found to grow their staff.

Christina Weiss, AFO, began working in Aquatics about 15 years ago, starting her career as a part time swim instructor at the local YMCA. She is now a District Aquatics Director with the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. One of the things Christina loves most about her position is training others and learning from them during the courses. She holds trainer level for YMCA lifeguard and faculty level YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certifications, and is currently obtaining her Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification. She has been an AFO trainer for a little over a year.
