Oh SNAP! A Qu(WIC)k Conversation on Federal Benefits

  • Registration Closed

Join this interactive conversation on the strategies and challenges to supporting the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). During this discussion, park and recreation professionals will be invited to share their understanding of these federal benefits, describe what actions (if any) their agency has taken to increase access to these benefits, and explain what training/resources might help their agency succeed.  All attendees will participate in breakout room conversations that provide ample opportunity to interact with and learn from other participants. NRPA plans to use input gathered during this recorded session* as the critical building-blocks to develop a toolkit to help park and recreation agencies better assist with connecting community members to federal food benefits.

This event is limited registration.

*Recordings will be done only after receiving permission from participants. Any recordings will not be shared beyond NRPA staff and will only be used to help develop the toolkit. Input gathered to inform the toolkit will remain anonymous.
