Hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, wildfires, earthquakes...Natural disaster events happen. Goals of the Operation Recreation Response initiative include helping agencies proactively develop capacity to natural disasters through better management practices. ORR has several layers: 1) Before an event - Emergency preparedness through proactive planning and assessments; 2) During the event, aligning mutual aid type assistance and providing services to those affected, including staff; and 3) After the event - Providing assistance to rebuild and repair park and recreation assets. We will cover tools, best practices, and innovations for preparation and response
