The ADA Under a New Administration

Recorded On: 11/09/2017

The President of the United States has great control over the way federal civil rights laws are enforced and interpreted, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  On November 9, President Donald J. Trump has led our country for exactly 293 days.  This webinar will review some of the ADA initiatives undertaken by the new Department of Justice leadership, and whether ADA enforcement has been slowed, accelerated, or suspended.  Do trails have to be accessible?  How about beaches?  What about swimming facilities, playgrounds, and sport fields?  How is the recreation inclusion mandate affected?  We will also discuss legislation in the House of Representatives that would modify some ADA requirements for businesses and nonprofits.  Join us for an important update that can help your agency properly implement this complex federal mandate.
