Using a combination of positive psychology, laughs, and a few unfortunate balloon animals*, participants will understand the elements of stress and learn how true stress "management" is a myth, but how stress maintenance is easily achieved. Participants will come away with immediately usable ways to handle personal and workplace stress, and will identify what stressors they have in their lives. Ultimately, participants will learn practical tips about how performing regular, simple “stress maintenance” can lead to healthier, happier, and more productive living.
*Unfortunately, balloon animals MAY be harmed in this session.
Learning Objectives:
1. Upon completion, participants will be able to describe the interconnectedness of stress, conflict, illness, and productivity.
2. Upon completion, participants will be able to define and internalize the differences between eustress, distress, and burnout, and better understand how the body and mind react to internal and external stressors.
3. Upon completion, participants will identify their own stressors and walk away with specific strategies to engage in personal stress maintenance techniques.
