On-Demand Talks feature subject matter experts presenting a wide range of topics that directly impact the daily work of park and recreation professionals. Available for a full year from their release date, learn from these videos when it works best for you! One virtual talk per month is also a key part of the yearly Premier Learning Series.
Skill Builders
These flexible learning opportunities are designed to fit your busy schedule, be more responsive to your professional development budget, and align with your professional development goals. Skill Builders are organized into three types of focused learning experiences that will enable you to build and strengthen specific skills based on your desired time commitment.
Certificates Programs
Certificate Programs offer engaging, interactive learning experiences designed to help park and recreation professionals build and strengthen their expertise across key topic areas. These programs are a valuable resume booster and an effective way to keep skills sharp while supporting ongoing professional growth.
Sandboxes
Sandboxes foster online networking opportunities, enabling participants to discuss timely topics within the Parks and Recreation field and gain valuable insights from peers nationwide.
Workshops
Workshops invite participants to discover new skills and concepts through live, hands-on virtual learning. Learners will be able to take their newfound skills and real-world applications back to their agencies!
Equity in Practice
Equity in Practice provides practical learning experiences that help park and recreation professionals apply equity principles in real‑world settings. Through interactive content, learners gain tools and strategies to advance equitable policies, programs and practices in their communities.

Sustainability in Practice Training Centers
On-Demand Sustainability in Practice Training Center – This Training Center covers eight topics from Environmental Data and Assessment to Strategic Community Partnerships and Storytelling for Authentic Community Engagement. Each section shares a short video, article, case study and/or tool explaining how to leverage community partners and advocate for sustainable practices at your parks.
Environmental Sustainability Training Center – Dive deeper into ten park-related environmental sustainability topics, each with links to informative articles, one-pagers, podcast episodes, and other quick and helpful resources.
NRPA Staff Training Resource Center
The NRPA Staff Training Resource Center allows agency staff contacts to access free NRPA learning materials to share with their wider staff. These resources are available for download and use by agencies for professional development needs. Please contact education@nrpa.org to learn more & register.
