April Premier: Evaluating Summer Camps With the Youth Program Quality Assessment

Coming April 2023! Join us to learn what a Summer Learning Program Quality Assessment is, why it matters, what it measures, and how it can elevate your summer learning experiences! This talk, featuring Brodrick Clarke, vice president, programs, National Summer Learning Association and Steph Love, senior learning and development specialist, for The Forum for Youth Investment, will guide you through ways to utilize Continuous Quality Improvement tools to ensure high-quality summer experiences for today's youth.

1. How do we leverage opportunities to continue to innovate and grow in summer learning

2. Methods to close the gap of summer reading loss

3. How the Summer Learning Program Assessment can measure best practices that are unique to summer settings 

This on-demand education talk will be released on the first Monday of the month unless otherwise noted. NRPA's virtual education Talks feature knowledgeable subject matter experts presenting on timely insights from research and practice. Each Talk is approximately 45 minutes to one hour long and is worth 0.1 CEU.

Steph Love is an international trainer, facilitator, coach and outdoor educator with over 25 years of experience leading creative and innovate youth development and outdoor education programs.  She had the honor of directing the HighScope Institute for IDEAS, where she worked directly with David and Phyllis Weikart.  In addition to her professional experience as an outdoor educator and wilderness guide for the Voyageur Outward Bound School (VOBS), YMCA Widjiwagan and Wintergreen Dogsledding Lodge in Ely, MN, Steph spent 16 years as the co-founder and director of Positive Energy Outdoors, an outdoor education program in Duluth, Minnesota.
