March Premier: Growers Market: A guide to developing a farmers market in your organization.

Farmers markets are possible when working with local community partners, understanding the agriculture around you and creating a space for education. Connecting rural to urban and farmers to consumers is becoming more important for communities than ever.

Farmers markets offer multiple benefits for local farmers and the broader economy.  Markets help small-scale farmers reach a wider customer base and grow their brand recognition by selling locally. Farmers can directly create relationships with their customers on a more personal level.

Markets can revitalize neighborhoods and create a vibrant community space by attracting visitors and growing local business and tourism.

When farmers reduce the distance of travel from farm to table, they are helping minimize the carbon footprint
