Park and recreation professionals are the backbone of healthy, thriving communities, fostering outdoor recreation, environmental stewardship, and social well-being. However, the unique demands of their roles, including physical labor, irregular hours, public service challenges, and high-stress community interactions, can take a significant toll on mental health. In this webinar, we will explore the mental health challenges specific to the field of parks and recreation, identify signs of burnout and stress, and provide practical strategies to promote resilience.
Additionally, this session will equip leaders with tools to recognize and address mental health concerns among their staff, fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes well-being. Using real-world examples, interactive discussions, and actionable strategies, this webinar empowers professionals to care for themselves while continuing to serve their communities.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify key mental health challenges faced by parks and recreation professionals, including stress and burnout.
2. Recognize the signs of mental health concerns in themselves and their colleagues and implement proactive strategies to promote emotional resilience.
3. Develop effective strategies that address the physical, social, emotional, and psychological demands of the profession, ensuring long-term well-being and job satisfaction.
